Formulated by our founder, Bridget May, who is both a scientist and a botanist, Fresh Face Toner combines potent CBD, willow bark with 0.5% naturally-occurring salicylic acid, cucumber, lemon balm and hydrolyzed oats to do three things in one for clearer, smoother, plumper looking skin:
- Balances and restores skin’s pH level and protective acid mantle
- Gently exfoliates and clears pores
- Hydrates and preps skin for serum and moisturizer
Fresh's delicate scent stems from the active botanicals inside it: bright citrus notes, fresh cucumber, subtle rose, and warm, woody, slightly medicinal myrrh. Very much like a California spa. No added fragrance.
Our Fresh Face Toner features Sonoma Hills Farm organic, sun-grown, full-spectrum hemp planted in California wine terroir by Aaron Keefer, the former culinary gardener of Michelin-starred restaurant The French Laundry.
How to use
After cleansing, add toner to a reusable cotton pad and gently apply to face, neck and chest. Do not rinse. Follow with moisturizer and/or serum, preferably Green Bee! Gentle enough for daily use (even twice daily), but of course discontinue using if irritation occurs.

As with all of our products, Fresh Face Toner is made of nourishing, real plants and is free of potentially harmful ingredients too often found in cosmetics — including parabens, phthalates, sulfates, PEGs, PFAS, colorants, added fragrance, etc.
In addition, an independent lab tests every small batch of our products for potency and purity. The results prove that our products are free of over 100 contaminants, from pesticides and microbial impurities, to mycotoxins and heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium), to residual solvents and processing chemicals. Every product, every batch. We know of no other cosmetics company that goes to these lengths to assure customers of the purity and safety of their products.

Why use full-spectrum cannabis on the face?
Your skin is your largest organ, and it’s covered in endocannabinoid receptors. Scientific studies show that when applied topically, phytocannabinoids from hemp and cannabis, such as CBD, CBG and even THC, bind with your body’s endocannabinoid system receptors and bring it back to balance. Each additional botanical we add to our toner is carefully chosen for its restoring properties and ability to enhance the benefits of the cannabinoids (see hero ingredients below).
Our products are non-psychoactive and contain <0.3% THC — just a trace amount to add to what’s called the “entourage effect” to make it more effective.

Despite the cute bee in our name and logo, which sometimes makes people think we use honey in our products, we avoid all animal-derived ingredients, and we never, ever test on animals.

Sustainable and conscientious
Our paper boxes, glass jars and aluminum lids are all reusable and recyclable. We searched for months for the right planet-friendly packaging, which costs considerably more than disposable, single-use plastic, but we believe it’s worth it, and we hope you do too.
We are on track to becoming a B Corp in 2023 and very close to 100% plastic-free. Starting January 1st, 2022 we will be a member of 1% for the Planet and enthusiastically support their mission to build an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet. Hydrolyzed oats
(Avena sativa)
Used as a skin softener and conditioner, this super gentle humectant hydrates while it soothes and reduces the appearance of fine lines leaving the skin smooth. Great for inflamed and dry skin.
Cucumber
(Cucumis sativus)
We added cucumber extract to our toner for its soothing and cooling anti-inflammatory properties. It softens and hydrates the skin while fighting the effects of sun damage and pollution because it’s an antioxidant too! Great for sensitive skin.
Lemon Balm
(Melissa officinalis)
Lemon Balm hydrosol helps soothe and reduce redness and inflammation and neutralizes free radicals because of its caffeic and ferulic acid content which are great antioxidants. It is especially gentle for sensitive skin.
Willow bark extract
(SALIX ALBA)
Willow bark extract very gently exfoliates the skin to boost cell turnover, tones and helps to achieve radiant complexion. Our willow bark is 0.5% salicin, a gentler version of salicylic acid. Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties soothe skin irritation. Fight blemishes with the antibacterial and astringent properties to clear out and minimize pores.
Witch hazel
(Hamamelis virginiana)
Witch hazel soothes the skin, tightens pores and reduces swelling. The gentle astringent from the tannins and catechins helps firm and cool the skin. It has been used as an acne blemish remedy for centuries because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant attributes. Unlike most witch hazel you’ll find in the pharmacy, ours does not contain ethyl alcohol, which can be very drying.
CBD nanoemulsion
(Cannabidiol)
CBD extract from the flowers of cannabis sativa interacts with the receptors all over our body – in what’s called the endocannabinoid system – to promote balance and optimal functioning. In this product, the CBD is nano emulsified to form molecules called micelles for enhanced bioavailability. This technology mimics the body’s natural function that helps it absorb fat soluble actives. With it, the CBD is delivered deeper into the skin to promote a stronger soothing anti-inflammatory and balancing reponse.

I love that this feels like micellar water, but also has an exfoliating feature in it. I thought it might feel tight on my skin, or sting, because of the witch hazel, but it’s really nice and gentle. Some toners feel sticky after applying where I’d want to wash my face after, but this one doesn’t.

This toner is LIFE! I have always had very sensitive, troubled skin, and have struggled to find a toner that was not only effective but gentle on my skin type (VERY dry/sensitive/combo on chin area) and at last have found the holy grail! Within the first 2 days, I noticed my skin seemed plumper, brighter, pores smaller, and cheek/chin area not as dry. Since then (about 8-10 days as of now) I have seen a continued improvement overall, and lately even ditched my medium/full coverage foundation for a light bb cream, and some days even none! Which has been huge for me. I cannot stress how great this product is, and highly recommend it for all skin types. Thank you to the creators for helping me on my skincare/self-care journey ♥
